1-Yahya bin
Yahya Al-Laithi told me on the authority of Malik bin Anas on the authority of
bin Shihab that Omar bin Abdul Aziz delayed the prayer one day, so Urwa bin
Al-Zubayr entered upon him and told him that Al-Mughirah bin Shubah delayed the
prayer one day while he was in Kufa, so Abu Masoud Al-Ansari entered him and
said, “What is this, Mughirah? Gabriel came down and prayed, and the Messenger
of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, then prayed, and the Messenger
of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, then prayed, and the Messenger
of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, then prayed, and the Messenger
of God, may God bless him and Then Omar bin Abdul Aziz said, “I know what he spoke,
‘Urwah, or that Gabriel was the one who established the time for the Messenger
of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, at the time of prayer.”
2-Urwa said, and Aisha, the wife of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, told me that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, used to pray the afternoon prayer when the sun was in her room before it appeared.
3-Yahya told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Zaid bin Aslam on the authority of Ata bin Yasar that he said a man came to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and asked him about the time of the morning prayer. From the next day, after he had finished, then he said, “Where is the questioner about the time of prayer?” He said, “Here I am, O Messenger of God.” He said, “There is no time between these two.”
4-Yahya told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Yahya bin Saeed on the authority of Amra bint Abd al-Rahman on the authority of Aisha, the wife of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, that she said that if the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, used to pray the morning prayer, then the women would leave, wrapped in their veils, what they would know of sitting.
5-And he told me on the authority of Malik bin Zaid bin Aslam, on the authority of Ata bin Yasar, on the authority of Basr bin Saeed, on the authority of al-Araj, all of them on the authority of Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “He who catches up with a rak’ah of the morning prayer before the sun rises has caught the dawn, and whoever catches a rak’ah of the afternoon prayer before it sets The sun has reached the age
6And he told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Nafi’, the freed slave of Abdullah bin Omar, that Omar bin Al-Khattab wrote to his workers that the most important matter for you to me is prayer. The sun is high and pure white as far as the rider travels two or three parasangs before sunset and sunset when the sun sets and dinner if the twilight has disappeared to a third into the night.
7-And he told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of his uncle Abu Suhail on the authority of his father that Umar ibn al-Khattab wrote to Abu Musa to pray the noon prayer if the sun and afternoon shifts, and the sun is pure white before yellow enters it, and the sunset when the sun sets and dinner is late as long as you do not sleep. knuckle
[8] And told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Hisham bin Urwah on the authority of his father that Omar bin Al-Khattab wrote to Abu Musa Al-Ash’ari that pray the afternoon prayer and the sun is pure white as long as the rider travels three farsakhs, and that the evening prayer is between you and a third of the night, and if you delay it until the middle of the night, and do not be among the heedless
[9] And he told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Yazid bin Ziyad on the authority of Abdullah bin Rafi’, the mawla of Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, that he asked Abu Huraira about the time of prayer, so Abu Huraira said, “I tell you, pray the noon prayer if your shadow is like you, the afternoon prayer if your shadow is the same as you, and the sunset if it sets.” The sun and the dinner is between you and a third of the night, and the morning has arrived in the darkness, meaning the sitting
[10] And he told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Ishaq bin Abdullah bin Abi Talha on the authority of Anas bin Malik that he said we used to pray the afternoon prayer, then a person would go out to Bani Amr bin Auf and find them praying the afternoon prayer.
[11] And he told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of bin Shihab on the authority of Anas bin Malik that he said we used to pray the afternoon prayer, then the one who went to Quba would come to them while the sun was high
[12] And he told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Rabia bin Abi Abd al-Rahman on the authority of al-Qasim bin Muhammad that he said, “I did not catch people except while they were praying Zuhr in the evening.”
Friday time door
[13] Yahya told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of his uncle Abi Suhail bin Malik on the authority of his father that he said I used to see a fan of Aqeel bin Abi Talib on Friday being thrown against the wall of the western mosque, and when the entire window covered the shadow of the wall, Omar bin Al-Khattab came out and prayed Friday. Malik said, Abu Suhail’s father, then we return After the Friday prayer, we say the morning prayer
[14] And he told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Amr bin Yahya al-Mazini on the authority of bin Abi Salit that Uthman bin Affan prayed Friday prayer in Medina and prayed the afternoon prayer with boredom. Malik said that was due to displacement and speed of travel.
Chapter: Whoever catches up with a rak'ah of prayer
[15] Yahya told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Ibn Shihab on the authority of Abu Salamah Ibn Abd al-Rahman on the authority of Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said, “Whoever catches up with a rak’ah of prayer has caught up with the prayer.”
[16] And told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Nafi’ that Abdullah bin Omar bin Al-Khattab used to say, “If you miss a rak’ah, you have missed the prostration.”
[17] And he told me on the authority of Malik that he had heard that Abdullah bin Omar and Zaid bin Thabit were saying, “He who catches up with the rak’ah has caught up with the prostration.”
[18] Yahya told me on the authority of Malik that he had heard that Abu Hurayrah used to say, “He who catches up with the rak’ah has caught up with the prostration, and he who misses the recitation of the Mother of the Qur’an has missed a lot of good.”
The door of what came in the darkness of the sun and the dusk of the night
[19] Yahya told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Nafi’ that Abdullah bin Omar used to say, “The sun is its inclination.”
[20] And he told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Dawood bin Al-Husain, he said, “An informant told me that Abdullah bin Abbas used to say, the sun rises when the sun comes, and the dusk of the night meets the meeting and darkness of the night.”
The time collector paragraph
[21] Yahya told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Nafi’ on the authority of Abdullah bin Omar that the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said, “The one who misses the afternoon prayer is as if he had lost his family and wealth
[22] And he told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Yahya bin Saeed that Omar bin Al-Khattab left the afternoon prayer and met a man who did not witness the afternoon prayer, so Omar said, “What kept you from the afternoon prayer?
[23] And he told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Yahya bin Saeed that he used to say that the worshiper is to pray, and what he missed in its time, and when he missed its time is greater or better than his family and money, Yahya said Malik said: He who catches the time while on a journey and delays the prayer forgetful or forgetful until he came to his family that he was He came to his family while he was on time, let him pray the resident’s prayer, and if he had come and the time has passed, let him pray the traveler’s prayer, because he only spends the same as he was upon, Malik said, and this is the matter that I realized the people and the people of knowledge in our country. Isha prayer and I left from the time of Maghrib
[24] And told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Nafi’ that Abdullah bin Omar fainted and his mind went and he did not make up for the prayer.
Sleeping about prayer
[25] Yahya told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Ibn Shihab on the authority of Sa`id Ibn al-Musayyib that when the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was locked up from Khaybar, captives came, even if at the end of the night there was a wedding and he said to Bilal, they ate for us in the morning, and the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and his companions slept as much as he could. Then he leaned against his mount while he was facing dawn, so his eyes overcame him. Neither the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, nor Bilal, nor anyone from the rides woke up until the sun hit them. So the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, Bilal, O Messenger of God, take by myself what you took by yourself, so the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said Then the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, ordered Bilal, and he established the prayer, and the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, led them in the morning prayer. Then he said, when he finished the prayer, whoever forgot the prayer, let him pray it when he mentioned it, for God, the Blessed and Most High, says in his book: “Establish prayer for my remembrance.”
[26] And told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Zaid bin Aslam that he said that the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, had a wedding on the road to Mecca, and he assigned Bilal to wake them up for prayer. They came out of that valley, and he said, “This is a valley in which there is a devil.” So they rode until they came out of that valley. Then the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, commanded them to go down and perform ablution, and he commanded Bilal to call for prayer or to set up. Then the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, prayed with the people, then he turned to them and he saw those who had terrified them. He said, “O people, God took our souls, and if He had willed, He would have returned them to us at a time other than this. If any of you fell asleep or forgot about prayer, then was afraid of it, let him pray it as he used to pray it at its time.” Then the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, turned to Abu Bakr and said that Satan came to Bilal while he was standing. He was praying and he laid him down and he still calmed him as a boy calmed down until he fell asleep. Then the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, called Bilal, and Bilal told the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, the same as he had told the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, Abu Bakr. Abu Bakr said, “I testify that you are the Messenger of God.”
Chapter on the prohibition of praying in the pilgrimage
[27] Yahya told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Zaid bin Aslam on the authority of Ata bin Yasar that the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said that the intense heat is from the breeze of Hell, and when the heat is severe, they cool off from prayer. Every year the same in the winter and the same in the summer
[28] Malik told us on the authority of Abdullah bin Yazid, the mawla of Al-Aswad bin Sufyan, on the authority of Abu Salamah bin Abdul Rahman, on the authority of Muhammad bin Abdul Rahman bin Thawban, on the authority of Abu Huraira, that the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “If the heat is severe, then cool off from prayer, for the intense heat is from the heat of Hell.” And he mentioned that the Fire complained to its Lord, and He granted it permission to take two breaths each year, one in the winter and one in the summer
[29] And he told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Abu al-Zinad on the authority of al-Araj on the authority of Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said, “If it gets too hot, stop praying, for the intense heat is from the heat of Hell.”
Chapter: It is forbidden to enter the mosque with the smell of garlic and cover the mouth
[30] Yahya told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Ibn Shihab on the authority of Sa`id Ibn al-Musayyib that the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever eats from this tree should not approach our mosques, he will harm us with the smell of garlic.”
[31] And he told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Mujbar that he used to see Salem ibn Abd Allah, if he saw a person covering his mouth while he was praying, he pulled the garment from his mouth very tight until he removed it from his mouth
Purity book
The door to work in ablution
[32] Yahya told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Amr bin Yahya al-Mazini on the authority of his father that he said to Abdullah bin Zaid bin Asim, who is the grandfather of Amr bin Yahya al-Mazini and he was one of the companions of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. Can you show me how the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, used to perform ablution Abdullah bin Zaid bin Asim said yes, so he called for ablution and poured it on his hand. Then he washed his hands twice, then rinsed his mouth and spread three times, then washed his face three times, then washed his hands twice to the elbows, then wiped his head with his hands, so he kissed them and turned around. He started with the front of his head, then he took them to the back of his head, then put them back until He went back to where he started and then washed his feet
[33] And he told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Abu al-Zinad on the authority of al-Araj on the authority of Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “If one of you performs ablution, let him put water in his nose, then sprinkle it, and whoever cleans himself, let him pray Witr.”
[34] And he told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Ibn Shihab on the authority of Abu Idris al-Khawlani on the authority of Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said, “He who performs ablution, let him disperse, and he who cleans himself, let him pray Witr.”
[35] And he told me on the authority of Malik that he had heard that Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Bakr had entered upon Aisha, the wife of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, on the day Saad ibn Abi Waqqas died, and he called for ablution, and Aisha said to him, ‘Abd al-Rahman, perform ablution, for I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, say: Woe To the heels of the fire
[36] And he told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Yahya bin Muhammad bin Tahla on the authority of Othman bin Abdul Rahman that his father told him that he heard Omar bin Al-Khattab performing ablution with water under his lower garment. Yahya said Malik was asked about a man who performed ablution and forgot and washed his face before rinsing or washed his arms before washing his face He said: As for the one who washed his face before rinsing his mouth, he should rinse his mouth and not wash his face again. As for the one who washed his arms before his face, he should wash his face, then let him wash his arms again, so that their washing would be after his face, if that was in his place or in the presence of that. Yahya said, Malik was asked about a man who forgot to rinse his mouth and spit until he prayed He said he does not have to repeat his prayer and rinse his mouth and scatter what he is facing if he wants to pray
The ablution of the sleeper when he gets up for prayer
[37] Yahya told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Abu al-Zinad on the authority of al-Araj on the authority of Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “If one of you wakes up from his sleep, let him wash his hand before he enters it into his ablution, for one of you does not know where his hand has fallen asleep.”
[38] And he told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Zaid bin Aslam that Umar bin Al-Khattab, may God be pleased with him, said, “If one of you sleeps on the bed, let him perform ablution.”
[39] And he told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Zaid bin Aslam that the interpretation of this verse {O you who believe, when you rise to prayer, wash your faces and your hands to the elbows, and wipe your heads and your feet to the ankles} that if you get up from the beds means sleep, Yahya said, Malik said the matter with us is that no He performs ablution from nosebleeds, blood, or pus that oozes from the body.
[40] And he told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Nafi` that Ibn Umar used to sleep sitting, then pray and do not perform ablution
The door of purification for ablution
[41] Yahya told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Safwan bin Salim on the authority of Saeed bin Salama from the family of Banu Azraq on the authority of al-Mughirah bin Abi Burda, who is from Banu Abd al-Dar, that he heard Abu Huraira saying that a man came to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and said, “Oh, Messenger of God, we are riding the sea.” And we carry with us a little water, and if we perform ablution with it, we are thirsty.
[42] And he told me on the authority of Malik, on the authority of Ishaq bin Abdullah bin Abi Talha, on the authority of Hamida bint Abi Ubaidah bin Farwa, on the authority of her aunt Kabsha bint Kaab bin Malik, who was under bin Abi Qatada Al-Ansari, that she told her that Abu Qatada entered upon her, and she poured him ablution, and a cat came to drink from it, and he listened to her. The vessel until I drank, said Kabsha, and he saw me looking at him and said, “Do you wonder, my niece?” She said, “Yes.” He said, “The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, ‘It is not impure, but it is one of the roaming around on you or the rafts,’ Yahya said. Malik said, ‘There is nothing wrong with it unless he sees impurity on her mouth.
[43] And he told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Yahya bin Saeed on the authority of Muhammad bin Ibrahim bin Al-Harith Al-Taymi on the authority of Yahya bin Abdul Rahman bin Hatib that Omar bin Al-Khattab went out with Amr bin Al-Aas riding with them until they came to a basin. Amr bin Al-Aas said to the owner of the basin, O owner of the basin, do you return your basin The beasts Omar bin Al-Khattab said, O owner of the basin, do not tell us, for we will return to the beasts and you will respond to us
[44] And told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Nafi’ that Abdullah bin Omar used to say that if men and women in the time of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, would perform ablution together
The door of what is not required for ablution
[45] Yahya told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Muhammad bin Amara on the authority of Muhammad bin Ibrahim on the authority of Umm Walad of Ibrahim bin Abdul Rahman bin Auf that she asked Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and she said, “I am a woman with a long tail and I walk in a dirty place.” Umm Salamah said the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. May God bless him and grant him peace
[46] And he told me on the authority of Malik that he saw Rabia bin Abd al-Rahman snoring repeatedly while he was in the mosque, and he did not leave or perform ablution until he prayed. Yahya said. Malik was asked about a man who snored food. Does he have ablution? He said he does not have to perform ablution, and he should rinse his mouth from that and wash his mouth.
[47] And he told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Nafi’ that Abdullah bin Omar embalmed the son of Saeed bin Zaid and carried him, then entered the mosque and prayed and did not perform ablution. Yahya said and Malik was asked whether there is any ablution in the vomit. He said no, but to rinse his mouth and wash his mouth without ablution.
Leaving ablution from what has been touched by fire
[48] Yahya told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Zaid bin Aslam on the authority of Ata bin Yasar on the authority of Abdullah bin Abbas that the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, ate the shoulder of a sheep and then prayed and did not perform ablution
[49] He told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Yahya bin Saeed on the authority of Bashir bin Yasar, the mawla of Bani Haritha, on the authority of Suwaid bin al-Nu’man, that he told him that he went out with the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, in the year of Khaybar, even if they were in Al-Sahba, which is from the lowest of Khaybar. The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, came down and prayed Then he called for the provisions, and it was only brought to the suq, so he ordered it and got rich, so the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, ate and we ate, then he got up to Morocco and rinsed his mouth and then he prayed and did not perform ablution.
[50] He told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Muhammad bin al-Munkadir and on the authority of Safwan bin Salim that they told him on the authority of Muhammad bin Ibrahim bin al-Harith al-Taymi on the authority of Rabia bin Abdullah bin al-Hadir that he dined with Omar bin al-Khattab, then prayed and did not perform ablution
[51] And he told me on the authority of Malik, on the authority of Damrah bin Saeed Al-Mazini, on the authority of Aban bin Othman, that Othman bin Affan ate bread and meat, then rinsed his mouth and washed his hands and wiped his face with them, then prayed and did not perform ablution.
[52] And he told me on the authority of Malik that he had heard that Ali bin Abi Talib and Abdullah bin Abbas did not perform ablution from what touched the fire.
[53] And told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Yahya bin Saeed that he asked Abdullah bin Amer bin Rabi’ah about a man who performs ablution for prayer and then eats food that has been touched by fire, does he perform ablution? He said: I saw my father doing that and not performing ablution.
[54] Yahya told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Abu Naim Wahb bin Kisan that he heard Jabir bin Abdullah Al-Ansari say: I saw Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq eating meat, then prayed and did not perform ablution.
[55] And told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Muhammad ibn al-Munkadir that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was invited for food, so bread and meat were brought to him and he ate from it, then performed ablution and prayed.
[56] And he told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Musa bin Uqbah on the authority of Abd al-Rahman bin Yazid al-Ansari that Anas bin Malik came from Iraq and Abu Talha and Ubai bin Kaab entered upon him, so he brought food to them that had been burned by the fire, and they ate of it. Anas is Iraqi, so Anas said, “If only I had not done it.” Abu Talha and Ubai bin Ka`b got up and prayed and did not perform ablution

[57] Yahya told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Hisham bin Urwa on the authority of his father that the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, was asked about a sweet tooth, and he said: “First one of you finds three stones.”
[58] And he told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Al-Ala bin Abd al-Rahman on the authority of his father on the authority of Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, went out to the cemetery and said, “Peace be upon you, the home of a believing people. You are my companions and our brothers who have not yet come, and I left them at the Basin, and they said, O Messenger of God, how do you know who will come after you from your nation? ablution and I left them at the basin, so no men go away from my basin as a lost camel is chased, I call them: Come, come, come, come, then it is said that they have changed after you.
[59] And he told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Hisham bin Urwa on the authority of his father on the authority of Humran, the freed slave of Uthman bin Affan that Uthman bin Affan sat on the benches, and the muezzin came and called him to the afternoon prayer. The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, says: No one performs ablution and performs his ablution well and then prays the prayer except that he will be forgiven for what is between him and the next prayer until he prays it. Yahya said, Malik said, “I see him wanting this verse: “Establish prayer at the two ends of the day and at the approach of the night. Indeed, good deeds remove bad deeds.” This is a reminder for those who remember.”
[60] And told me on the authority of Malik, on the authority of Zaid bin Aslam, on the authority of Ata bin Yasar, on the authority of Abdullah Al-Sanabihi, that the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: If a believing servant performs ablution and rinses his mouth, sins come out from his mouth, and if he purifies, sins come out from his nose, and when he washes his face, sins come out of his face until they come out. From under his eyelids, when he washes his hands, sins come out from his hands until they come out from under the nails of his hands. If he wipes with his head, sins come out from his head until they come out from his ears. If he washes his feet, sins come out from his feet until they come out under the nails of his feet. He said: Then he walked to the mosque and his prayers were superfluous for him.
[61] And told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Suhail bin Abi Salih on the authority of his father on the authority of Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “If a Muslim or a believer performs ablution and washes his face, every sin he looks at with his eyes with his eyes or with the last drop of water comes out of his face. Every sin committed by his hands came out of his hands with water or with the last drop of water, and when he washed his feet, every sin that his feet had committed would come out with the water or with the last drop of water until he comes out clean of sins.
[62] And he told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Ishaq bin Abdullah bin Abi Talha on the authority of Anas bin Malik that he said I saw the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and the afternoon prayer had come, so the people sought ablution, but they could not find it. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was holding that vessel in his hand, then he commanded the people to perform ablution from it. Anas said, “I saw water springing from under his fingers, so the people performed ablution until they performed ablution from the last of them.”
[63] And told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Na’im bin Abdullah al-Madani al-Majmar that he heard Abu Hurayrah saying: “Whoever performs ablution and performs his ablution well, then goes out intentionally to pray, he is in prayer as long as he intends to pray, and he writes for him in one of his steps a good deed and erases from him with the other, if one of you hears the iqaamah, then do not Yes, the greatest of you in reward is the farthest from you. They said: Why, Abu Huraira? He said, “Because of the many mistakes.”
[64] And he told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Yahya bin Saeed that he heard Saeed bin al-Musayyab asking about ablution from feces with water. Said said, “This is the ablution of women.”
[65] And he told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Abu al-Zinad on the authority of al-Araj on the authority of Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: If a dog drinks from the vessel of any of you, let him wash it seven times
[66] And he told me on the authority of Malik that he had heard that the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: Be straight and you will not be counted, and the best of your deeds is prayer, and only a believer maintains ablution
Chapter on wiping the head and ears
[67] Yahya told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Nafi’ that Abdullah bin Omar used to take water with his two fingers to his ears
[68] Yahya told me on the authority of Malik that he had heard that Jabir bin Abdullah Al-Ansari was asked about wiping over the turban, and he said: No, until he wipes the hair with water
[69] And he told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Hisham bin Urwah that Abu Urwah bin Al-Zubayr used to remove the turban and wipe his head with water.
[70] And told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Nafi’ that he saw Safiya bint Abi Ubaid, the wife of Abdullah bin Omar, take off her veil and wipe over her head with water, and Nafeh on that day was young. Malik was asked about wiping over the turban and the veil. Malik was asked about a man who performed ablution and forgot to wipe his head until his ablution dried up. He said: I think he should wipe his head and if he had prayed, he should repeat the prayer.
Chapter on wiping over the socks
71 Then he washed his face with water, then he went to take his hands out of the sleeves of his robe, but he could not, because of the tightness of the sleeves of his robe, so he pulled them out from under the robe, so he washed his hands and wiped his head and wiped over his socks. And he prayed the rak’ah that remained on them, so the people were terrified, and when the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, had finished, he said, “You have done well.”
[72] And he told me on the authority of Malik on the authority of Nafi and Abdullah bin Dinar that they told him that Abdullah bin Omar had presented Kufa to Saad bin Abi Waqqas, who was its emir, and Abdullah bin Omar saw him wiping on the slippers, but he denied that.
